Cinnamon buns (traditional swedish delicacy but very popular in Finland)
I know this might sound weird because cinnamon buns aren’t actually known as healthly food. Trust me, this is good to your mental health. Making these will take over an hour.
You will need these makings
Over an hour of time
5 dl milk
1 dl sugar
1 tbsp cardamom
1,5 tsp salt
About 14 dl wheat flour
2 tbsp cinnamon
1 dl butter
Step 1: Mix the yeast to hand warm water. Add egg, sugar, cardamom and salt. Gradually add the flour to the dough. Add the soft butter at the end of the flour addition. The dough should be soft. Prepare the dough with hands until it comes out of the hands and the sides of the bowl. Let the dough rise under the baking sheet for about 20 minutes.
Step 2: split the dough to two parts and roll pieces to about 30×60 cm plates. Spread half of the soft butter over it and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
Step 3: Wrap the disc, leaving the seam underneath. Cut the roll into about 16 pieces to triangles like this /\. Lift the pieces with the thin side up. Use your fingers to push the narrow tip of the pieces down to the table. Make another piece of dough the same way. Raise well covered with cloth.
Step 4: grease the dough with eggs. Bake buns in 225 degrees for about 8-10 minutes.
